How to help – Take Action

There are many ways to respond to injustice, displacement and violence.

At Act for Peace, we believe peace is built through presence, participation and persistence.

This page offers ways to take action beyond financial giving—through prayer, advocacy, learning and accompaniment.

You don’t need to do everything.

You can begin where you are, with what you have.

Ways you can take action

Pray for peace and justice

Prayer is a way of choosing to stay present to suffering, injustice and hope.

It is how we hold the realities of conflict and displacement before God and remain open to how we are called to respond.

You might choose to pray:

  • For displaced people and communities affected by conflict and instability
  • For children and families living with fear, loss and uncertainty
  • For peacebuilders, human rights defenders and local partners working under pressure
  • For leaders and decision-makers, that they may act with wisdom, courage and restraint
  • For ourselves, that we would not turn away—and that prayer would lead us toward action

Raise your voice through advocacy

Advocacy is a way individuals can act together to seek justice, peace and protection for people affected by violence and displacement.

Act for Peace works alongside trusted partners to support thoughtful, values-based advocacy that calls for policies and decisions which uphold human dignity.

Current advocacy opportunities

Safer World for All

Delivered in partnership with Micah Australia, this campaign invites individuals to use their voice to call for a safer and more just world.

Participation may include signing petitions, contacting decision-makers, or sharing the campaign within your community. It is an opportunity to act collectively and contribute to change beyond individual action.

Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI)

Some people feel called to take part in the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI), an international program that places participants alongside communities living under occupation.

EAPPI offers protective presence, monitors human rights, and supports local and international advocacy through first-hand witness.

Participants commit to a period of preparation, accompaniment in the region, and sharing what they have witnessed on their return.

Applications are not currently open, but you can register your interest to be notified when they reopen.

A shared journey for peace

Not everyone will take action in the same way or at the same time.

Whether you begin with prayer, advocacy, learning or accompaniment, each step is part of a broader movement for peace grounded in faith, partnership and long-term commitment.

We invite you to take the next step that feels right for you.
