The latest Global Trends Report shows there were 123.2 million people forcibly displaced worldwide at the end of 2024.

According to Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, peace is central to finding solutions to the displacement crisis.
“The search for peace must be at the heart of all efforts to find long-lasting solutions for refugees and others forced to flee their homes,” he says.
The numbers are shocking. But we must remember – each number represents an individual with a unique story.
Everyone’s reason for fleeing their homeland is different – they might be forced from their home by conflict, disaster or persecution.
Every person has a story to tell. We remain committed to standing with refugees and people who have been displaced, amplifying their voices and sharing their stories until everyone has a safe place to belong.
