Put simply, our fates are bound together; Australia can’t open up until our neighbours do and, until then, we will continue to suffer as a result of trade, tourism and travel restrictions.
For nations with weaker health systems and no social safety nets, the impact of the coronavirus will continue to be catastrophic for years to come.
This is a global reckoning; we must act together and urgently. The world cannot delay in the way it has regarding the destruction of our natural environment and climate change.
Together, we can continue to raise the voice for those worst hit by the crisis: people already suffering the effects of war and natural disasters, and refugees driven out of their homes.
We have already shown our Government – and each other – that we care about supporting our global neighbours through this crisis. More than 25,000 Australians and 200 organisations have so far signed the pledge to stand in solidarity with vulnerable nations and called on our Government to help #EndCOVIDForAll.
Join us in calling on our Government to help #EndCOVIDForAll.
Pledge today and help show that we want Australia to play a leading role in stopping the spread of COVID-19 in vulnerable nations
