Empower people to change their lives through the Tesfa ‘Hope’ project
The world is currently witnessing an unprecedented displacement crisis, with more than 120 million people uprooted by conflict and violence. As the numbers continue to rise, the need for sustainable long-term solutions is becoming more urgent.
Behind the overwhelming numbers are people who, through no fault of their own, have been forced from their homes, with many lacking hope and viable pathways to control their destinies. Many are completely reliant on aid and the kindness of others to survive.
But what if there was a pathway out of poverty?
The ‘Graduation out of Poverty’ approach is a way to empower people to regain self-reliance by helping them to build a stable source of income.
Our partners empower families and support them to reach their goals, enhancing their skills and interests to develop a sustainable source of income.
The comprehensive approach fosters stability for refugees in the countries they’ve fled to, helps them to improve their livelihoods, and supports them to rebuild their futures.
The graduation approach has already seen incredible success in other communities around the world.
Which is why we are so excited to be working with our local partner in Ethiopia, the Development and Inter-Church Aid Commission (DICAC), to develop and implement the ‘Tesfa’ project, which means ‘Hope’ in Amharic.
We will be working with fifty families living in Addis Ababa, to help them transforms their lives – from survival and aid dependence to choice and self-reliance.
Join us in building a better future – together we can find lasting solutions for people who have been displaced by conflict and disaster around the world.
Please give today.
