Refugee week
Across the world, more than 123 million people have been forced from their homes by conflict, disaster, and a changing climate.
Walking together in hope
Across the world, more than 123 million people have been forced from their homes by conflict, disaster, and a changing climate.
Behind every number is a person. A family. A story of loss, resilience, and hope.
Refugee Week is an opportunity to pause, reflect and stand alongside people who have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety and belonging.
For generations, Australian churches have responded with compassion through prayer, hospitality, advocacy, and practical support. Through Act for Peace, the international humanitarian agency of the National Council of Churches in Australia, people across the country continue this tradition of faith in action.
This Refugee Week, on Refugee Sunday, we remember that the call of Christ is not only to welcome the stranger, but to recognise our shared humanity and seek justice alongside them.
Please give a tax-deductible gift today.
About Act for Peace
Act for Peace is an international ecumenical humanitarian agency advancing peace with justice.
We strengthen and support locally led efforts to prevent and respond to displacement caused by
conflict, the environmental emergency and disasters.
We link grassroots leadership and the voices of people uprooted by conflict and disaster with advocacy and faith-based solidarity to address the root causes of injustice and displacement.
We stand within a global movement for peace that is relational, courageous, and committed
to peace with justice.
