Middle East Emergency Appeal
Emergency humanitarian assistance desperately needed in the Middle East
Please give now to help provide life-saving humanitarian assistance to people who are at grave risk of injury, death and displacement.
The Middle East is experiencing extreme volatility and ongoing conflict with millions of families caught in the crossfire and urgently need vital emergency support.
Please give today!
The humanitarian needs in the Middle East are unimaginable. Global action is needed now so innocent civilians can access critical care, including food and medical supplies.
Ongoing conflicts across the Middle East have resulted in hundreds of thousands of people forced to flee their homes in search of a safe place to belong.
Since early May, the conflict involving Iran, Israel and the US remains unstable while deadly strikes continue in Lebanon. The long-term humanitarian crisis continues in Gaza and regional instability deepens throughout the Middle East.
The death toll continues to rise and displacement is soaring.
In Lebanon alone the number of people forced to flee their homes has surged to over one million people.*
We must act now.
By giving today, you’ll help equip trusted local organisations already responding on the ground through the ACT Alliance network.
What Our Team Say
“As violence escalates in the Middle East, we are deeply concerned for the safety and well-being of millions of innocent families who are at grave risk of injury, death and displacement,” says Act for Peace CEO, Andrew Hassett.
“Every gift through the emergency appeal will go directly to our trusted local partners working with the ACT Alliance to provide critical emergency support including healthcare, medical supplies, food and shelter.”
“Those over one million people displaced are having to find a home in shelters, and most of the time, these shelters are governmental schools and so they have no proper access to water or proper access to WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) facilities,” says ACT Alliance Humanitarian Program Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Jana Nasr.
“They are having to sleep in classrooms and that also disrupts the educational system, and children cannot even go to school.”
Help provide vital humanitarian emergency assistance
Please give urgently to help provide vital humanitarian assistance to people caught in the conflict.
Currently Act for Peace is supporting the following local responses through our Middle East Appeal:
Lebanon: ACT Alliance members are providing humanitarian support for people who are displaced including emergency food supplies, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) kits, bedding, clothing and fuel.
Gaza: ACT Alliance members are providing humanitarian support for people who are displaced including health and medical support, education, livelihood support, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), emergency cash support, psychosocial support, shelter and household items.
Iran and Afghanistan: Our long-term partner, Community World Service Asia (CWSA) is delivering rapid, dignified assistance to conflict-affected households in Iran, while also responding to the growing displacement of returnees and vulnerable populations in Afghanistan. This response includes multi-purpose cash assistance for conflict-affected households in Iran. The Afghanistan response focuses on support for returnee households including the provision of emergency food and shelter, hygiene kits, WASAH awareness activities and mental health and psychosocial support.
Act for Peace urgently calls on all parties to immediately de-escalate the conflict, protect civilians and ensure safe and unhindered access to humanitarian aid.
But right now, families need practical support.
Act for peace today by giving to our Emergency Appeal to help local organisations in the Middle East to respond to this humanitarian crisis.
