Almost 40% of families in Makassar, Indonesia survive on less than $2 a day. When floods strike, they lose everything – their homes, their livelihoods, their future. Your tax-deductible gift before 30 June can help change that.

Ani is an elderly widow raising her orphaned 16-year-old grandson, Rizky, alone. She earns a small income as a seamstress, so her sewing machine means everything to her. It’s how she puts food on the table and keeps a roof over their heads. It’s how they survive.

Without her sewing machine, she can’t work, there’s no food, and it’s her only way to keep her grandson in school.

“When the floods come, I can’t sew. My machines are ruined, and I can’t do anything.”


Through the Community-Led Early Action and Resilience Program (CLEAR), your gift helps locally led disaster teams:

  • Train families to protect their homes and livelihoods before waters rise
