A home is more than a house. It’s a place where we feel safe and secure.
We need to know that our kids are safe at school, that we can provide food for our families, that we’re not at risk of violence and that we can access services when we’re struggling.
We need a community we can belong to, who is working together for the greater good.
Unfortunately, this is out of reach for many people in Zimbabwe due to the overwhelming challenges they face as a result of disasters and our changing climate.
Families are being left vulnerable and are unable to access the practical and emotional support they need to stay safe. Many have been forced to abandon their homes, and others are struggling to remain on their land.
While the problems may feel overwhelming and unavoidable, together we can mitigate these risks and help communities to find a safe place to call home.
By supporting our local partners, Zimbabwe Council of Churches and Christian Care, you can help people displaced by disasters to rebuild their lives in safety and dignity. And we can empower communities to tackle the challenges posed by climate change, creating opportunities for more resilient livelihoods so that people aren’t forced from the safety of their homes.
Our local partners urgently need your help today to create safe homes for people to belong.
