About Act for Peace

Act for Peace is the international aid agency of the National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA); an ecumenical council of 18 member churches and is also a member of the global ACT alliance.

Since the first Christmas Bowl, Act for Peace has been working in partnership to achieve safety, justice and dignity in communities threatened by conflict and disaster. Act for Peace is currently working with partners in Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Gaza, Jordan, Iraq, Indonesia, Vanuatu, Tonga, and with refugee communities in Australia.

We will continue to work together to build the foundations for real and lasting peace and make a growing difference to communities around the world.

With your support, we respond fast in an emergency to deliver lifesaving aid – including food, shelter and water – to where it’s needed most. You’re also supporting long-term development projects that help communities to tackle their own problems – whether that’s giving girls a brighter future through education, helping farmers grow enough to eat, or supporting refugees to return home safely after a conflict has ended.
